ABOUT MR. MCMILLAN

My Teaching Philosophy
A strong public education system is good for children, families, and society. As educators, we are entrusted with our nation’s most valuable and most vulnerable resource, our children. Educators are called to equip children with the knowledge and skill they will need to be successful and responsible adult members of society. A quality education can and should encourage excellence in the essential academic skills by teaching to State and district standards. A quality education can and should also pass on character traits such as determination, perseverance, and concern for others.
I have chosen to pursue a career in special education because I believe that quality teachers can have a tremendously positive influence in the lives of young people. I appreciate the unique challenge of special education in uncovering the strategies that help each individual reach their full potential.
